Scope and accountability

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information handled by Joshua Tristin in connection with joshuatristin.com, direct correspondence, and information received in connection with optional support transactions.

Joshua Tristin is responsible for personal information under his control. Privacy questions, access or correction requests, and complaints will be handled through direct correspondence channels when one has been established with the individual.

This notice describes current practices. Particular privacy rights and obligations depend on the law that applies in the circumstances.

Information that may be handled

Website and security data

Joshuatristin.com is primarily a static website. It does not currently provide user accounts, a newsletter signup, or a first-party contact form. The site is delivered and protected through Cloudflare. In providing those services, Cloudflare may process technical information such as IP address, traffic-routing data, requested URLs, browser or system information, timestamps, and security signals. Some traffic or security information may also be made available to Joshua Tristin through the hosting or security service.

Email correspondence

If you correspond with a Joshua Tristin address, the information you choose to provide may include your name, email address, message, attachments, and normal message metadata. Email-routing and mailbox providers process that information to deliver and store the correspondence.

Optional support transactions

When optional support payments are enabled, they use Stripe-hosted checkout. Stripe collects payment and transaction information directly through its service. Depending on the transaction, Joshua Tristin may receive information such as transaction status, amount, date, name or email address, and other transaction details Stripe makes available to administer the payment. Joshua Tristin does not receive your full card number or card security code through the hosted checkout.

External media and social platforms

The site links to, and in some cases can display content from, independent music, video, and social platforms. If you choose to open an external service or activate third-party content, that provider may receive device, network, account, cookie, or usage information under its own privacy policy.

Why information is used

Personal information is used only for purposes reasonably connected with the interaction that produced it, including to:

• deliver, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure the website;
• detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, phishing, or security incidents;
• receive and respond to messages, privacy requests, and security reports;
• administer optional support transactions and respond to payment questions;
• maintain records reasonably required for accounting, dispute resolution, security, or legal obligations; and
• establish, exercise, or defend legal rights where necessary.

Joshua Tristin does not use personal information received through these channels for unrelated marketing unless a separate, appropriate consent mechanism is introduced.

Cookies, analytics, and your choices

Joshua Tristin does not currently operate first-party advertising tracking or first-party analytics cookies on joshuatristin.com. The site is intentionally designed without a first-party account system, newsletter tracker, or contact-form database.

Third-party providers may use cookies or similar technologies when you choose to interact with their services. For example, Stripe may use device identifiers, cookies, or similar technologies for checkout, authentication, fraud prevention, and service analytics. Music, video, and social platforms may use their own technologies when their content or websites are opened.

You can choose not to activate third-party media or follow an external link. Where consent is the basis for a particular use of information, you may withdraw that consent subject to applicable legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.

Sharing and service providers

Joshua Tristin does not sell or rent personal information. Information may be processed or disclosed where reasonably necessary to use service providers for website delivery and security, email, payment processing, or other operational functions.

Current categories of providers include Cloudflare for website delivery and security, email-routing and mailbox infrastructure for correspondence, Stripe for optional support payments when enabled, and independent music, video, or social services when you choose to interact with them.

Information may also be disclosed where required or permitted by applicable law, to respond to valid legal process, to protect rights or safety, or to investigate fraud or security incidents.

Processing outside Canada

Some service providers may process or store information in Canada, the United States, or other jurisdictions. As a result, information handled by those providers may be subject to the laws and lawful-access regimes of the places where it is processed.

Retention and safeguards

Personal information is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or for legitimate security, accounting, dispute-resolution, or legal requirements. Retention periods can differ depending on the type of record and the service provider involved.

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used relative to the sensitivity of information under Joshua Tristin's control. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so sensitive credentials should never be sent by ordinary email.

Access, correction, and complaints

Depending on applicable law, you may be entitled to ask whether Joshua Tristin holds personal information about you, request access to it, or ask that inaccurate information be corrected. A request may require reasonable identity verification before information is disclosed.

A privacy request or complaint may be made through a direct correspondence channel that Joshua Tristin has provided to you in an existing interaction. Requests will be reviewed and answered in accordance with applicable requirements and any lawful exceptions.
